Bringing a different perspective to culture
The Bensaid Avocats endowment fund is part of an approach that seeks to broaden access to culture and to support artistic and cultural projects with a strong social impact. It recognises access to culture and artistic education as a driver of personal development and a pillar of collective progress.
The fund responds to the economic challenges faced by creators and cultural players by providing financial support to public-interest projects. This initiative reflects the firm's social responsibility and its commitment to equal access to culture for all.
MICONDO · Roça Java, art and memory
Following a rigorous and transparent selection process, the Bensaid Avocats endowment fund selected the ASTP association as the beneficiary of its first grant, in São Tomé and Príncipe.
The “Roça Java, art and memory” project transforms a heritage site, a vestige of the former colonial plantations, into a living space of creation and cultural transmission, combining artist residencies, participatory workshops and architectural restoration.
- Residencies for international artists and workshops in photography, visual arts and crafts;
- Rehabilitation of a historic architectural ensemble and preservation of local know-how;
- Programmes dedicated to women and young people, access to culture in an isolated area;
- Networking of African and European artists, responsible cultural tourism.
MICONDO embodies the meeting of art, memory and solidarity. Through this project, the fund affirms its contribution to a cultural future rich in meaning, humanity and sharing.
The agents of cultural change
The beneficiaries of the fund are cultural, artistic and community players leading public-interest projects in the fields of culture, the arts and the preservation of heritage:
- Committed cultural associations, foundations and institutions;
- Artists leading innovative and inclusive initiatives;
- Projects contributing to cultural influence and dissemination;
- Actions that broaden access to culture for all.
A commitment, a tax benefit
The fund brings together demanding and committed donors, individuals or legal entities, who share the conviction that culture and the artistic heritage are a common good to be preserved and passed on. A gift to an endowment fund gives rise to a tax reduction:
- For individuals: reduction of income tax equal to 66% of the gift, up to a limit of 20% of taxable income (French Tax Code art. 200);
- For companies: reduction of corporate tax equal to 60% of the gift, up to a limit of 0.5% of turnover excluding VAT (French Tax Code art. 238 bis).
Rigour, transparency and governance
The Bensaid Avocats endowment fund is committed to a constant requirement of transparency, rigour and legal compliance. Its governance is provided by a board of directors composed of qualified individuals, which oversees the strategic coherence of its actions, the selectivity of the projects supported and the transparency of decisions.
